I made a mistake.
A referral came in a while back.
A Business owner who was looking to run some FB ads & had been told to speak to me by a mutual trusted friend.
So it was a pretty smooth ‘sale’.
But they shouldn’t have hired me.
It’s not that I didn’t get them results:
I did, we made 5-figures in profit from a month’s ad spend.
But my complacency led me to not pay attention to their cash-flow situation.
It was more precarious than I knew.
I often work with businesses who NEED more clients.

So I need to be careful.
Running ads can be very cash-flow intensive in the short-term.
That profit was going to come in over a period of 6 months or so.
So £10k+ coming in, but not all at once.
And what I didn’t know was that he paid his staff 100% of every new customers 1st session
So basically not only was he paying me & the ad spend but with every new lead that came in he was paying more & more to his staff.
The short-term situation was actually getting worse with each new lead!
So, the lesson is – be VERY clear about how much something is going to cost.
And if things are tight – don’t hire someone who will bring in more clients than you can afford…
